Dwight David Howard II is an American professional basketball player on the National Basketball Association's Philadelphia 76ers team. He is an eight-time All-Star NBA champion, eight-time All-NBA nominee, five-time defense team member and three-time defense player of the year. Howard, who plays the center role, spent his high school career at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. He chose not to go to college, entered the NBA Draft in 2004, and was selected as number 1 by Orlando Magic. Howard has set several franchise and tournament records during his time working with Magic. In 2009, he led the team to the NBA final. In 2012, after eight seasons with Orlando, Howard was transferred to the Los Angeles Lakers. After a year with the Lakers, he played for the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards. Howard returns to the Lakers in 2019 and wins his first NBA championship in 2020
